Default How to center a Hilborn Style Scoop

I've got a 383 engine swap in a '77 camaro. The carb is a QFT Q-Series 850CFM with a Hilborn Style Scoop on top, and it's not centered from left to right. It sits a few inches towards the passenger side. One of the owners before me cut a pretty jagged hole in the hood. The hole is centered with the vehicle/hood, but the scoop is a few inches off, which looks pretty bad. Anyone know how to center the scoop, maybe with some kind of offset spacer between the engine and the carb, or the carb and the scoop? The plan is to get it centered, then clean up the cut in the hood.

Use an extra long stud (Bar stock)to find where it sits in the hood. Then cut a whole for it to fit through. Then close the hood and set the Hilborn style scoop on top of the hood and use something like "blue tape" to measure where to cut the whole. There is a 1979 Camaro with a supercharged small block at the Nasty Z28 site with such a setup. To see what its like.

My question would be why isn't it centered? Do you have a broken motor mount?
