Default Header Problems

I'm trying to drop a 350 into my 1979 Camaro but I feel like the headers don't fit correctly. They stop the engine from being totally down and when it is down, the headers don't line up right. (and yes! they are the right headers!) How can I make it easier?

You should start by checking , to make sure you have got the right headers. if not, then replace your motor mounts, if they are stock they could probably use it anyway. If they are right headers but don't fit to the right place ,get a BFH.

Are you trying to drop the engine in with the headers tight? You may need to drop the headers into the engine compartment, and tie them in place with iron tie wire. Then drop the engine in, slip the bolts into the motor mounts, and try bolting the headers up to the engine with a couple bolts and no gasket to test fit. If that works, then pull the two bolts and install the headers with the gasket.
Hope this hellps.

Are they short or long headers? I have longs on mine with a 350 and had to take the passanger header off to get it in right

I dont think they will go in like that. The only way i could get my headers on was to bring them up from underneath the car. When i tried to go in from the top side they will hit the crossmember.
