Hey all,
I have a '81 camaro, when I bought her everything was fine until recently the fuel gauge stopped working, the needle is stuck at 1/4th and it doesnt move a bit. I guess the float in the fuel tank must be stuck at that specific point (causing the pointer to be stuck at that specific point on the coil)
I havnt started working on it though, but I guess its the float problem and not the wiring or anything else
Does any one have any inputs on this??

 

The gas gauge should go back down to E when power to it is killed (key off). If it doesn't budge, it isn't an electrical problem, the gauge is stuck.

 

yeaa thats whats wrong I guess, my gauge needle as it is never dropped back to E wen no power was supplied. Anyhow ill drop down the fuel tank and check this system.
