Default Engine Swap

Sup Guys, I have an 81 Z with the standard 305 V8. Anyway, I was talking to a guy who said he would sell me a 350 V8 for $400 and he said that it would mount up just like my 305, is this true? Would I have to mod anything for the 350 to fit? I figured that since they were both small blocks they would bolt up the same.......

What is the easiest way to tell that the engine I am looking to buy is a 350? I know the engine in my Z now is a 305 because of the VIN # and I also have the build sheets.......

You'll have to run the numbers on the block or pull the heads and measure the bore,350 has a 4" bore.

Yeah just look on the back of the block, get the numbers and go to an engine de-coder website and see what it is.
