383 Suggestions
I just ordered a 450 hp 383 for my 74, what CFM rating would you guys reccoment for a carb? also would you all use electric or mechanical accessories, fuel pump, water pump, fan ect.

850 on the carb. 750 might be enough, but there are many factors to figure into size. http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...arb/index.html
A mechanical fuel pump, as long as it's a performance aftermarket one, will work just fine.
I have a belt driven Edelbrock water pump, with an electric fan. I wanted to go electric fan so there was less worry with zinging a fan at 6k+ rpm's.
Plus it's extra weight that's taken off the pump (less bearing wear), and a fan isn't needed on the open road anyway.
With an electric water pump, there's always the chance of a failed motor (it does happen) leaving you stranded. A bad belt driven pump rarely leaves you totally stranded.
