Default 305 Gas Mileage, 1976-1979

Hi all, just wondering what i should be expecting for the gas mileage of a 1976-1979 chevy 305. Any thoughts? I know that the 1980's ones get good gas mileage but wasnt sure about the 70's 305's. Thanks

8-10 is by far the lowest i have heard about the 305's. i have heard a lot of 16-18's and some into the 20's. no disrespect meant but are you sure its tuned up good?

My '87 305 gets 24 mpg when I drive it, although granted it's fuel injected and a 3rd-gen car, so it won't be the same as a '76-'79.
