Default tranny trouble

last night i took my camaro down the road after i've just put new exhaust and a new carb on it and while im driving along in D my tranny starts acting up like it went into neutral or somethin. it wouldnt do this in 1st or 2nd. i have a B&M megashifter and havent had any trouble out of it or the linkage to the tranny and its been on for over a year. i checked the fluid and it was ok. Do you guys think that it is just slippin or what? it doesnt quite act like it though its almost like its goin completely into neutral. Any help is appreciated thanks!

Make sure the shift linkage hasn't gone out of adjustment before diving into the transmission.

The linkage would also be my first geuss. But since you replaced your carb, Does your trans have a TV cable? Is it adjusted? Or the vacuum module hooked up?

might also want to oil up the lever, and little ratchet gear in the shifter, my buddy's megashifter did that and it had been about 10 months since he drove it, after a little oil and adjusting it worked great.

yea its an auto. yea i was hopin it was the linkage could that new carb be messin up the kick-down cable on the trans? ill prolly take it to my buddy's dad he was my high school auto teacher and ASE cert. master tech. i just dont wanna screw anything up transmissions aren't my strongpoint but thanks for the help and anything else you can think of. also i just re-did the exhaust and ran straight pipes from the headers thru flowmasters and out the back (the old exhaust was duals but went into 1 pipe thru the cat then mufflers) and went from a stock quadra-jet to a 600 edelbrock. I have a 400sb out of a chevelle. you guys think that gettin it to breathe better on both ends will help alot at the track?? plannin on going friday.

Since you have a different type of carb you need to make sure that cable is adjusted.
