Default changing speedometer gears

Hello all,
I just currently changed my rear gears to 4.10s and added a posi unit. However, my speedomoter has never worked. The cable is good and I am missing the gear from my transmission.
I am being told that i need the gear from the output shaft. Now, my output shaft on my tranny is 27 spline, but this doesnt seem to help me get what I need?
Does anyone know how i can figure out what gear i need for my speedometer to work? I will be running 245 60 R14s in the rear.

Thanks!

There's a ring gear that's on the output shaft, inside the tail housing. And you need to know how many teeth it has. You might be able to see well enough through the hole where the speedo gear housing goes. Jack the rear wheels off the ground, put trans in neutral, make a tick mark on the gear, then turn the driveshaft as you count.

does anyone know how many Drive Gears are in a TH350 transmission? I thought i counted 8, but when i did the calculations and then got the Driven gears, my speedo seems WAY off.
