77 Camaro only starts in Neutral
Just bought a 77 camaro and when it wouldn't start I purchased a new battery for it and it started right up after sitting for two years. However, it doesn't even turn over again (as it did prior to new battery). I have been told there is a park sensor fuse above tranny somewhere and that is the problem. It only turns over in neutral. Has anyone had this problem?
It's a 305 with a TH350 automatic.

No it does not. There is absolute silence. Has to be put in neutral just to turn it over.

Ya that's what I have heard. I will check it when I get to to it in a couple of weeks.

If you go digging into the console, you should find a neutral safety/reverse switch mounted to the base of the shifter. I'm not totally familiar with your switch, so you probably have more than two wires connected to it (also acts as your reverse lights switch). You need to find the two wires on the switch that are for the starter safety and connect them together to bypass the switch. If the engine then starts like it should, either the switch is bad, or the shifter isn't pushing the switch forward far enough. Just be careful if you leave it hot-wired, because you'll now be able to start the car while in gear.
