LOL ok. Long story short. I haven't had a day off in two weeks. That was just a DAY. I mowed the grass and fixed up the yard. I'll get the 4th off but its back to work Thursday. I'm almost at my breaking point. I don't see my kids anymore and its starting to depress me. I had a back up trained at work so we could swap weekends but he doesn't seem to be able to be alone. I get phone calls all day when I am off. All night from the kid on third shift. Living a little over a mile from work has a real disadvantage, I get the first call. Like I said I'm ready to quit. The money is good and jobs are hard to come by around here. So...

The Jeep needs the converter bolts and the grounds hooked up. A few other small things and I could have it done. I just don't have the energy to go out before work. The car I bought a new DA because the muffler came out of my trust Dynabrade. The whole neighborhood knew I was DAing. Thats why I don't work on the car at night.

Thanks for the motivation, I would work on something tomorrow but I have to spend time with my boys. They are missing me. The go to daycare before I wake up so I only see them if I come home on lunch. Maybe after fireworks I can do something.

Sob story over, carry on.

It's funny, with the economy in the toilet, nobody is hiring. Yet it seems like all of your good reliable jobs have people clocking serious OT... Doesn't make sense.

Because it's cheaper for an employer to pay 4 employees 10 hours overtime each, than it is to pay 5 employees 40 hours to get the same number of total man hours. That way, they save paying benefits, workman's comp, unemployment contributions for one employee.
Oops.... back on track!

I couldnt agree more. Then add that employers know they own you because no one is hiring. I love my country but have real thoughts of moving to Canada. Its only three hours away.

I think you'll be safe. For my sake though, I hope So-So Security will still be around in another 10 years for me to start drawing from.

Sad thing is I know I'm screwed. 30+ yrs until retirement. I hope the Chinese put a good plan in place for me to retire on. Our politicians will have borrowed my SS to death by 2045. I deal with Canucks frequently because the machines I work on are Canadian. They always seem happy. They're even get guaranteed vacations.

It is law in canada to get 2 weeks holiday a year. Its 4% of base wage written in stone. Canadas a nice place but depending where you live the weather is complete and total crap!

Alot of people think that we are on the verge of major economic times as well, so far were holding in there. If the oilfeilds slow down and prices fall more we might be in for some trouble.
