I didnt want to have to shift every time. So I built it so that it can be left in auto or fully manual.

I havent been working on them long enough to give much more than a guess. But The band is what lets it engine brake. So if its not doing it in third maybe its a line pressure thing or the accumulator. Some guys will pull the accumulator spring and leave it, some with use a spacer. I want to build a few to know these things.

$300 for a build including labor is cheap. But going into your burban, you dont need a race trans. The deep first would be a plus. Some say the 700 is good for nothing but trucks.

Hey man just read your threads from april, been away from this site for over a year. The interior looks good, did you ever get a chance to spray the sound deadening in it before you placed your parts back in the car?

Sorry to hear about the flood, my rental house flooded in april last year so i know how big of a nightmare it is. I was lucky as i didnt lose any mechanical items in mine.

Anyways i am going to try and tune back into your thread now that im moving on my car, always good to get ideas from other areas.

One thing, depending on the shape of that tranny before you rebuilt it, be real careful with the valve body, i had to rebuild a 350 for my toyota and in the end i had to buy a new valve body becuase i couldnt get all the shmag out of it.

The VB was good. I tested all the valves for movement before reassembling. They move freely with gravity. Yes the Lizard Skin is in. The interior is just in there because I was tired of looking at it.

The flood for sure set me back. I still havent got totally back on track since then but I'm not desperate either. I want to pull the motor back out of the truck and have the car moving by summer but its sooo cold out. Looking at a high of 1* in the next couple days. I'm not even going to entertain the idea of heating the garage.

Yeah I know how you feel with the temp, it's a high of -15 tomorrow and -20 here on Sunday here. You got a photo of the lizard skin? Or did I just miss it in your post?

Here's all the pics I have. It was wet in the pics, it dried to a dull finish. I looked back in my posts, I sure didn't post pics of the Lizard Skin. I may put a layer of Dynamat over it. It is a bit quieter but I'm not sold so far. There is a solid thud when I knock on the floor. But the roof still has a bit of a drum sound and I cant say for sure if it will help or not. I'm positive it will insulate from engine heat though. I still have to do the truck and I may do the bottom being it can be painted and is latex based I think it will do better than under coating any day. I really dont need any undercoating but it should seal out water.

Damon, do you have the sheet metal piece for the shifter hole? If not I have a new one and it's yours if you want it.

I have a pretty ragged one. Yes I could use a new one. My plan was to get one but never got to it. I would be truly grateful. I was just going to strip the Lizard Skin back and weld it in since I need more anyhow I was going to coat it then. I got a little ahead of myself when I did the car. I still want to mini tub it too. That means I wasted quite a bit of the coating on parts of the car I will cut out. But if I never get to it at least I didnt skip it and have a bare spot.

Did that ABS module work out for you? Hows the snow down there? We got beat up last night to the tune of about 12" My back is absolutely screwed from shoveling the crap the plow left behind. I hope you and the wife had a good holiday.

It's yours! I'll get it packed up today. If you still have my phone number, text your address and I'll get it out to you.

The ABS module didn't fix the problem. I'm thinking I may have a wiring issue. I haven't missed the ABS until this storm! I was up north skiing and came back yesterday. It didn't start to snow until I got to Grayling. By the time I was half way to West Branch the roads were getting bad. All the way home I never saw a plow on the southbound side of the freeway. Then I get home and the wife had flooded the snowblower and fouled the plug so had to fix that. About a foot of snow to clear after that. I shouldn't complain because I moved from Alaska and love the winter.

I hope your back feels better. I know that's no fun as I have to go and set physical therapy for a pinched nerve.

LOL I drove to work this morning in white out conditions. It took an hour and a half to go 50 miles. Thank you!
