I think for that amount of work I would have to love it. I don't,so I'll use the bumper.
It's time to start the rest of the body. All the black must go.
The rest of my Mike Lavallee wannabe flame job goes also.

This is the repro outer door seal.It never fit right.I had to cut and bend it.
the paint was so soft it dented where the spoiler was.

I think body color on the bumpers looks best. "jerhoffer" has a black big bumper. It is a beautiful car.

I like the blacked out look. The car will be red,all the trim, bumpers and wheels will be black. I have no chrome other than ctr caps and lug nuts.

I stripped one quarter. I found one bubble came from under the bondo where the previous owner replaced the quarter. I also tried out a different trunk lid. The fit is no better.
I ground out all the bondo and redid it. What a messy job!

Thats alot of sanding to get to metal. Did you use 60g? It too me for ever to do my stock paint w/ 80g so I just broke out the blaster.

You guys gotta try those stripper pad discs! I am sold on them, they beat all those flapper discs!

I don't use anything that won't go on a DA. Just the metal finisher still living in me. The flap disc and such can create too much heat and you can get edge cut pretty easy. I use them for grinding down welds and blending corners on thicker material.

The paint was pretty soft. I did it with 80g. I could see when I hit primer. I did it mostly by hand with the long blocks. Blocking out will be much easier this way. One reason I tried a diff trunk lid was that I didn't have to remove all the paint. Just scuff and shoot. But it has issues and I'll be going back I think.
