Back in the day in high school one of my classmates bought a brand new 1970 Nova SS 350, metallic blue with a black vinyl top. It's one of the few cars I think look good with a vinyl top. I loved that car and if I ever find one I can restore I'd love to grab it. It's one of my dream cars. I'd prefer a big block but sure wouldn't be picky! That is a beautiful car.

My wife's Nova was dark metallic green with a green vinyl top, and dark green interior. Not sure how many were triple green, but it actually looked pretty nice all green.

I found this in a box of crap in the basement. I don't have a scanner so I had to snap a pic of it with my phone. There is some flash. This is the Deuce. 10.63 on the window, the front end all jacked up from years of hacking on it and no hood. Those doors are nothing but a shell with a small pair of Vise Grips on the latch and a piece of conduit diagonal so the door didn't flex too bad while open. 2775lb with me in it. I wanna say I'm not in that league either.

Didn't realise your Nova was a 2nd gen Damon? Pretty cool drag car, and the most desireable of the Novas!

I had a '67 and '76. The '76 was my very first hot rod. The '67 was the bank account draining savage you see. It was a sedan too, you cant tell in the pic but the doors have the channel all the way around the top. The SS were just glass. The guy I bought the doors from almost cried when I told him what I did to them. I couldn't cut mine up. They were perfect Texas doors. Talk about karma. I felt the same way looking at the car a couple years back. after I sold it the guy cut the whole 1/4 out of it over a small bubble. This was a near perfect car that only needed floors when I got into it. I had all the original paint panels to go back on it.

Its still sitting with the 1/4 missing. 5years or so after the fact. The ***** cut my cage out too.

Oh yeah Val thanks. That right there represents my 20's. No wife and kids. At the track every Wed and Sun. I never condidered these second gen. They are almost the same as the 64's

That's always the trouble with selling a car to someone you'll see again. You either have to see what they do to it, or hear them complain if anything goes wrong!

I totally agree. Its worse when someone tears down your motor though. My buddy had a an Olds 442 that the kid immediately tore down after it was sold. It was a very fresh rebuild. But I would do it too.

I agree! I would and have torn down motors that were supposed to be fresh rebuilds! That's how I found the bad bearings in the lower end of my 327 in the Austin. Supposed to be 400 miles since rebuild, but they wouldn't have gone another 4,000 without causing issues!

Sweet wheelie! One day I way a street car that will pick the tires off the ground like that.

Well got home on Friday and was hoping to work on the car for a bit today. Had to start off this morning test driving new vehicles. My girlfriends sweet 91 grand prix is overheating and it's time to get rid of it. I think we settled on a 2013 Ford Edge SEL. Sucks to spend the money but it's time.

I did get out for a bit to turn a couple wrenches. I got the rear brakes mounted, new shocks mounted and the new tires put on. The ET streets are almost 2" shorter then my old ones but I definitely love the new rims. The pictures I had seen did them absolutely no justice, they look killer in person. The offset worked out great too. The 315s fit real nice. Truthfully I don't even know if the fenders will need to be rolled but I'm going to do it anyways just for good measure.

I don't have pictures of them but they look pretty good with the Wilwoods behind them.

My plans are on Monday put in the subframe connectors and start the tubular control arm, big brake swap on the front end.

Really excited to get some parts on the car finally!
