Does redoing the front suspension require any special tools? If it does I just might have to have a shop do it (I am trying to save all my budget for parts rather than tools).

 

Assuming you're staying stock, like I said you should probably take your control arms to a shop for bushings, and probably ball joints.

 

Like the guy before it all depends on your pocket book and time.I have a Vette Brakes C-4 Corvette adjustable mono leaf suspension .Of which they don`t offer any more.But you can go from fairly stock to full blown racing suspension. I started with changing from the stock sway bars on my 1979 Z-28 RS Camaro .To a 1 1/4 front bar and 7/8 rear bar. With grease-able poly urethane bushings .A Herb Adams rear sway sway bar kit .With a set of KYB gas shocks. So I could do it a little at a time .Since it was my daily driver at the time.Remember this is a hobby and to not get into too deep.
