it will look good when its done, also that will help to keep it from rusting when it snows.

well this car probably won't see any snow. It might on accident Colorado whether is crazy sometimes might get caught somewhere. I figured that the bed liner will stand up better to abrasion and keep paint on there longer. hopefully keeping any future rust to minimum. On the bottom of the car the only surface rust that was there due to the fact that the paint had been worn through from all the gravel roads. Which are paved now.

Damon I checked out that rack. I'm thinking Im going to keep it simple as far as steering goes for now. but thanks for letting me know.

Default 4th gen rear end

Took a 110 mile round trip the other day down to Denver to pick up LS rear disc brake setup and the Guy didn't know what exactly I wanted and was all worried about me taking the baking plates. He was nervous about taking it apart to get them off or something idk. I was going to buy the calipers and backing plates for $180, but then he said he had to much going on to take those apart so he asked if I wanted the whole rear end... I looked at my car I brought and was umm...

I don't think it will... he said "take the whole thing for $300". I smiled and said load it up.

I feel that was a pretty good deal it was taken off a wrecked 2000 Trans am. I am happy to get the whole thing cause I wanted to build the abs system on this car so now I have the toner rings on the axles. more on that later...

I finally got a quote for powder coating the subframe. $150 Cheaper than I thought, looks like that is the route I'm going. I'll be doing that soon 2-3 day turn around time. I won't be doing any work on the Camaro this weekend I'm going to help my girlfriends Dad pull the engine on his Chevy II this thing is amazing I was talking about his cars earlier in the thread I'll post some pics.

Have you considered putting the whole TA rearend under your car, or is it not close enough in width to use? If it will fit I'd cut off the old mounts and weld on new perches to match your rearend and just drop it under the Camaro.
Would sure make life easier than swapping parts.

ya but the t/a rear end is weaker since its the 7.5 i believe. he should be able to just swap everything over to the other without any issues. only issue i could see him possibly having is with the abs rings.

The T/A rear diff is about 4 inches wider. I thought about that for a moment about what would have to be done to get it to work, but it's more than I want to get in to right now. If I could just send these axles out somewhere and have them shortened or remove the toner ring and attach it to the original axles I'm all for that. I haven't even checked out my options yet. I'm sure someone out there makes custom axles just what I need for a price...

The limited slips are different too. The limited slip In mine is a clutch type and the T/A is a gear type. The gear types are cool looking but not as good in my option. Yeah the clutch type have to be serviced more often and wear out. (clutches get burnt) but they function better in most situations.

Agreeed. The clutch types are far superior and in most cases will never wear out with the kind of miles we put on our toys. There are many places that can build axles to spec for a price. I'm pretty lucky to only live about 1 mile from Dutchman's Axles, so I take all my axle stuff to them.
