Are you not planning to pull the fender vents before you paint it? I would think you would spray them off the car and paint the fender with out them on the car too! Just asking...

I bought the band clamp off the Matco truck over 15 yrs ago. This was its first time in use. I hate it, I feel like I'm in shop class all over again. Crappy tools and no knowledge.

5Time, I found mine in Nasty's classifieds on accident. I wasn't even really looking but a car this clean was too hard to pass up. It had NO body filler ever. It was weird sandblasting a car that didn't have holes.

yeah me too this is one of the first cars i ever restored that didnt have atleast a little filler in it,havent found any yet, thats why i feel so guilty using glazing putty to make it straight.even the rockers are all shiny metal under the paint its unbelievable, and the rear wheel wells dont have a lick of rust inner or outer.this car must have spent its life garaged, also its from texas i guess that help, damon i thought ur whole body was already in primer, didnt know but ur still way ahead i still need to sand and primer the rear section, the quarter panels and the drivers side yet and both the doors and hoods.bro did you get all the pistons installed yet, what size is the bores on that,i probably have a tapered ring compressor i have just about all the sizes,i can come help you if u need me to.

i do have a 3 inch cowl hood if needed ,im really hoping to use the factory hood if at all possible,as i like that one the best,it does need a little glass work its a standard hood with a cowl scoop povrited on just need to smooth it out,but looks pretty good.even has the cutout underneath with a supporting frame welded in.

Mind if I ask where you got your cowl from? I'm looking for one that will easily mold to the contour of the hood, but its proving to be a not so simple task.

oldman9,im not sure where they got it,it came with the car.all i know is its a harwood cowl and looks like it would mold to the contour nicely with some glass work.

No on the pistons. I have been sick as all he77. I think I have a ear infection but I've never had one so don't know. All I do know is its been a week and today was the first day I could stand up without being dizzy. Crazy, I can't remember my last cold. That is most of the reason for not working on the Jeep.

The bores on the Jeep are 3.680. SMMMAAALLLLL! A 305 is 3.780, I think.
