ok i can do that,so what u thinking maybe a 2200 or 2500 stall convertor would be best for all around use.maybe i could mount it on my firewall somewhere its not gonna get banged up where u got urs mounted,or i could mount on the drivers side where the charcoal canister used to be ,its usually cooler over there lots of fresh air coming thru.

I'd check cruising speed rpm's and get something that's equal to your cruising speed at 55-60mph, or slightly lower. If your engine runs 2500 rpm's at 55mph, then go a little lower. My '71 cruises at 55mph around 2300, so I went 2000, and the Austin cruises around 2500, so went 2200 stall.
I've got my cooler mounted in front of the radiator on my '71. On the Austin I mounted it horizontally below the radiator, because it's got a tiny radiator and I didn't want anything in front of it. You can see my cooler in front of the radiator in this old pic from the bodyshop:

You can't put the cooler on the firewall. It needs to be like Vals with air going through it.
That support is rough. If you are going to convert your car to an earlier model, look for a parts car. You may get a better support. You will need lots of misc stuff anyway not just sheetmetal and bumpers.

but the problem is i need to also make room for my intercooler,by the radiator, i dont wanna block my whole radiator. once its broke in,it will get twin turbo chargers.but it will be awhile before that happens.

You need airflow no matter what.
583 rwhp and you want twin turbos? Don't bother with body work. You are going to twist that camaro to all getout. Sub conns are not going to handle that. You need a chassis!

Yeah, there is a point where the car just wont take more HP. You'll find that the body will tweak and you'll see that when the seam between the roof and quarter panels start to crack; most likely the driver's side first. It's pretty common on the 2nd gens when people start pushing the HP too far without going to a full chassis.

I'm running 3.42 gears in the Camaro and 3.73 in the Austin. The 3.42's are the perfect gear combo for decent accelration with an automatic, and still maintain a good cruising speed rpm with a TH400 or TH350. The 3.08's will really allow you to wind out on the freeway.
