I was there last year. I took my FIL for his birthday. It rained relentlessly. My two boys got a kick seeing the cars in the pits. Then we left after they officially cancelled it. Never did try to reuse my ticket.

so now that i got my hood ready for the hood scoop what should i do next, inner fenders need work, also my radiator support needs lots of fabricating to get it right again,my front nose piece needs fiberglass work, actually im gonna fiberglass the whole bottom half to give it more support for the center spoiler that fastens to the bottom of it.or maybe my fenders, not sure where i should start next.

I did a test and tune with the guys from the NMCA. Talk about knowing your place. I couldn't even be in the lanes with there cars. NMCA is my favorite, I once drove 12hrs to Memphis to see the finals. Awesome day. I saw the ET and MPH records get broke. These guys were in the 6's with a 10.5" slick, I have wider wheels on the Camaro then that.

I just looked at it last weekend. The only issue I see is one of the mounts may be over sized from rust. Not bad at all really. If it was bad there a patch could be made with a hole saw and a small piece of scrap metal.

When I rolled into Memphis I took the wrong bridge and wound up in the hood driving my buddies truck. I had to blow a red light cause I thought I was gonna get car jacked.

It didn't have side pipes on it then but everything else was the same. I blew the tires off when I left the light. Good times.

We did this in my driveway for Power Tour last summer.

I'm not a big fan of the wheels. I did talk him into the stock 20" 4x4 wheels with low profiles on them. I thought it was the cheapest way to get 20's at the time. The truck came with 18" steel wheels. We have been around the world it seems in that truck. One trip to Detriot for the international auto show was a trip. 7" of snow ON the highway.

Reminds me of a similar experience we had in New York City back in the 80's. A coworker and I were sent to New York for training. We got into Newark after midnight, and got lost trying to get to mid state in our rental car. My buddy was navigating and we were sitting at a stoplight at 2:30 a.m. in Harlem while he read the map.
I'm looking around and 7-8 guys are walking into the street towards our car as he read the map. I made a quick decision to run the light and get the heck outta there. He looks up and asks why I ran the red light. I pointed over my shoulder to the crowd in the street, and he said, "Oh crap! Good choice!"

yeah i had a similar insident like that too in my semi,it was in gary indiana right in the middle of the hood, was being followed everywhere i went i ended up running a couple lights and called the police so i could make my delivery,it was a load of harley davidson motorcycles, cant believe they have a harley dealer right in the hood, they knew what i was hauling because i had a harley davidson trailer.and going to the harley dealer was a clear give away.there was 52 harleys on that trailer,no wonder why they wanted to hi-jack me the load was valued at over a hundred thousand dollars,i always hated hauling loads of harleys because the load is worth so much and has about 20 stops all in the big cities.
