Haven't been doing much with the Camaro lately, but since I did not get a motor put in last winter, I'm trying to get a head of the game. My heads are done (see pics above), so I've ordered a few things for the new motor just trying to get ahead a little. Just got new Full Roller Rockers from Starr, Comp cam (XE 268h), and got my new alum tall valve covers. Now, hope to get block in for its work in the next few weeks and then I can order new rotating assembly

Got the new hood on just to see how it will look later on and will leave it there for the summer. fits well and wipers work. Hood aligns well and what alignment problems I have are from the fenders and front piece being off. Will fix all that this winter as I am going to take everything off (hood fenders, nose piece) when I do the motor and clean up the fire wall. The reveal on both sides is good, but one fender is slightly back further than the other (going by reveal between door and fender.).

OK, finally back to work on the camaro. Got Most of the parts here for the motor and the block is at the machine shop. Been working on the AC delete. Went ahead and removed the whole inner fender just to make it easier (I painted the inner fender while it was off). I also painted the box to match the fender and fire wall. Everything went well. Have the heater hoses blocked off for now and will run new ones after new motor is in. Be glad when the motor is done.

Looks great Bill! Hope you had that heater core checked, or replaced it while the inner fender was off! Hate to see it go bad right afterwards! I speak from personal experience!

I hated the box I had. I tossed it in favor of a smooth wall.

I almost did away with the heater system and went with the smooth wall, but I wanted to be able to use at least defrost mode up here in the north west.

Val, I had planned on changing the heater core, have a new on setting in the shop, but mine is removed/changed from the inside. So I'll hope for the best, and do it at a later time.

That's interesting Bill! I didn't know any of the 2nd gens came out from the inside? Mine was held in from the inside, so I had to loosen the inside and remove the outside to allow it to tilt, and then come out.

Mine was a solid wall with the two hose tubes sticking through as seen in pics above. I was hoping it came out from the motor side, as I had a new one and was going to put it in.

Boy, as I'm going to keep the motor I'm taking out of the camaro complete, I'm having to buy everything for the new motor. Its not the cost of the motor that's killing me its all of the things on the outside that go on it! LOL

Took the front nose off the camaro today just to make working with the motor easier. Also got the heads painted. Should have the block back by Friday.
