Started putting in the new dash today. For what is supposed to be a replacement dash I'm dissapointed in the overall fit. I had to walk away today, I'll go back tomorrow. The passengers side seems to be okay but the driverside is a different story. Looks like i need to drill 2 holes where the screws go up into dash infront of the speedo and gagues. And to top it off all the mounting tabs have broken off of the gague package. Not sure what I'll do with that. Any tips let me know.

Yeah, JB Weld and some aluminum sheetmetal will work good to fab up new tabs. Had to do it on mine and a friend's too. Worked great.

Christmas came early yesterday. The new tail light lenses came UPS. Although we won't put them on till we have the car painted. But its nice to know I have them setting there on the shelf. Took almost 4 months to get them through Classis Industries.

Finally, the new dash is in. I ended up taking it back out of the car and doing a lot of fitting and grinding. Ground both ends and cleaned them up, and then used an air grinder to try and get the under dash parts to fit better. This helped some but not completly. After putting the dash back in I still had some problems with the underdash parts and had to add a couple of screws to help align the peices. After doing this I'm not sure I would do it again. I would look hard at other options such as a cap. The small bar with screw in has a nut on back and helped pull peices together and line up. I will paint them black to match.

Next I will move to stereo system and speakers. Found an old stereo in my shop tha I had bought for my 73 Bronco years ago ,and it will fit in the camero.

The rear deck was realy tore up on my camaro, looked like someone had taken a pair of cutters to it. I bent everthing back the best I could and then made plywood mounts for the speakers. All came out well. I hooked the stereo up with extra wire I had just to see if it all worked ok and it sounded really well. I don't need to hear the music 3 blocks away or vibrate the windows out. These two 5x7 will do just fine. I have jute backing to put in under the new tray and a new tray. I now have to move back to the dash for a few hours and put in new ducting that I orderd and came today.
