The dist isn't an Accel brand, but i suspect it is the same manufacturer.

I do have a plan, all i need for the motor now is a cam and an intake to match it.

i put the dist in yesterday and it made a hell of a difference.

I just hope it's not one of the Pro Comp knock offs! Friend of mine got one for his SBC 350 and it lasted 2 weeks before it self imploded! It actually died, and when I was troubleshooting it I discovered it had sheared the shaft internally! Looked like a bomb went off inside the distributor!
Does your intake have a breather hole up front that's open, or is there something in that hole to plug it?

from what I can tell it is an accel dist, its just not branded accel. same plant in china i bet. it's supposed to be 65k volts

we'll see about that when i hook up an msd cdi box.

yes my intake does have the old style oil fill hole. and it is open...
Im trying to find something to plug the hole temporarily. I'm thinkin one of those expandable freeze plugs. but the one i need is out of stock

soon the car is getting a new edlebrock performer intake and cam so i'm not to worried about it.

i sprayed fogging oil in the hole so hopefully it wont rust too bad.

I too have read, not seen the pro Comp ones are crap. everyone says the same thing. They literally break. Other than these I have never heard of one break. Wear out yes, break the shaft though? LOL What is the shaft made from? Pot Metal?

The hole in the intake should be 1.25" standard. I use a steel 1.25" soft plug, and just find a 1/2" drive socket that has a smaller diameter and a extension, to drive the soft plug into the hole. They go in easily. You can get the rubber expandable soft plugs, but they're ugly. I just put a steel one in my new cross ram intake, and they're $2.

well thats a b****. those headers do not fit.

i think they are truck headers, they hit on the control arm mounts

OH WELL i get paid in a day and im going to get a set that fit and have an O2 bung.

i started it with the stock headers open... sounded amazing..

With everything you've removed from the engine bay, do you still have working O2 sensors that you'd hook to the bung?

Funny thing is I put my Camaro headers on the motor in my truck. These are for Camaro only. They hit the lower control arm bolt on the truck. Weird huh? If I had another set I would swap you. I still need the Camaro headers for the foreseable future.
