well i did a little research and apparently i am to modify the control arm mount on 79-81 camaros to mount the headers i want to buy so i might as well just use these..

nope! but thats ok. im just going to get a generic 1 wire O2 and a narrow band afr gauge. just to help tune it. i have no idea how to tune a carb, but if i can get a basic idea is its lean or rich i can adjust from there.

Should be able to do the same without an O2 sensor port in the headers, and use cheaper headers that don't have it. If you're using it for tuning it can be done at the tailpipe easier than bolting into a port.

well.. im kind of leaning toward turbo... so a good 02 would be rather helpful..

Were you having trouble with the brace that goes from the frame to the lower mount? That has to be removed befor headers can be put in.

If you turbo you would want a wide band.

no its the actual rear lower control arm mount.. i guess on 79-81 they have to be modified. atleast according to summit.

wide band is on my list for sure. the one wire 02 and narrow band is just to help tune it till i get the turbos. im going to follow in the foot steps of the grenade. the bone stock 350 with twins that went 9.89 and 145 and is still going.

since its going to be turbo'd im goint to just work somethin else for the exhaust... maybe just run it open headers for a while..

I figured out the flexplate problem

turns out the starter was indeed wrong

i looked up one for an older truck, the bendix has the same amount of teeth but the gear itself is bigger.

so now my car doe not sound like garbage when it goes to start.

it starts right up now too

Yup I know the grenade. I have my own out in the garage. 275xxx mile 350 with two GT3032's. All ebay crap, all day. Summit was describing the brace I was talking about. I know these cars like my own shlong. Absolutely no difference between the mount on a 75 and an 81. They put the brace from the frame to the mount in 79 and that gets in the way.

WELL. thank you for the information. that means the set of headers i can get from my work will actually work!!!! hell yes they are $100 but hey they arent going to be permanent.

speaking of permanent do you know that the permanent fund dividend is?

its my twin turbos. thats what

also since you have done what i am planning on doing, how did you run your fuel system? i'd like to keep the stock tank if possible. i know about the high pressure pump and boost reference regulator. but im not sure if the stock lines and return will flow enough to keep up
