I hear ya. I'm thinking even if I had 2 it would not be a bad thing.

Been moving and shaking on preparing for the engine build. So far I've picked up some full roller rockers and polylocks. Also an MSD ProBillet, an MSD 6200 box, a Blaster 3 coil, a red billet throttle cable bracket, red billet heater hose neck, an Edelbrock RPM Airgap, a Holley 750 vacuum secondary carb, all ARP studs and bolts that I will need, a Holley carb spacer 1", some 8mm Spiro spark plug wires, and probably alot I'm forgetting.

I do also have over $150 in thinner gaskets for the Vortec heads, intake gaskets, centerbolt valve covers, ARP waterpump bolts, and solid engine mounts in my Summit cart, to be supplemented by a $25 off coupon code. I'm thinking that two weekends should have this engine in the car.

Oh, and I also need a 3200-ish stall for a th350 somehow. I'd like to find a used one, but I may have to settle for a new one. The thing about it is, eventually I would like to just get me a 700r4, but that could be a couple years down the road since I've already got this trans sitting and all shined up.

I've got my new heads all painted up, and roughly assembled. Everything is coming in the mail for the build. I'm down to needing a 3500-ish Stall Torque Converter and a Shift Kit to get my trans done so I can assemble this thing and drop it in. I also need to test the lift on my springs to see if they can handle the additional lift from the 1.6 roller rockers. This was the original cam spec lift .489''/.504'', and this is with the bigger ratio .522"/.538".

Holy cow! Where did you find valve covers tall enough to clear those adjusters! I don't think I've ever seen them that tall!?

lol, I haven't found them yet, I'm hoping that tall ones will clear them. They are actually for a stud girdle, which I may get down the road sometime, but with these being Centerbolt valve covers, I don't know if they will work. I may just end up needing to get shorter polylocks...

I've never seen center bolt valve covers tall enough for the stud girdle adjusters, so you may have to change them, or get valve cover spacers to raise them and longer bolts.

Yeah, I was afraid of that, no biggie though, they were just what came with the rollers, I don't mind getting different ones. I really still need to see if the springs have enough lift in them for the rockers too.

I believe they were intended for heads like mine. They have an extra 1/2" cast into the rail for the valve cover, this is so short valve covers clear rollers. But I would certainly have to use tall ones with those monster poly locks.

I really should probably look into getting some normal ones, I could probably just sell these on ebay.

I almost went out and put my engine together. Then I noticed that I only had 1 head gasket. Don't know why I thought they came as a pair... But, I did get my Vortec Air Gap today. And I've got a lovely belt drive system coming, fabricated valve covers, Wire Looms. And I've got a damper, another gasket, and billet pointer along with a damper bolt in my cart at summit. I need to sell one more thing on ebay then I can order it up. I need to add a damper install tool to it, and a pushrod length checker.
