Thanks, I could not find the rebuild kit. I did give up after a bit though, $160 isn't bad either. As for wanting new pushrods and rockers, I don't have the rods, and the rockers are just stamped ones, which I suppose is easy enough to change out later if I feel inclined to. I'll need to see what my fuelly heads can handle for lift and see what I can do for a good lumpy street cam.
As for punching just the caps, that is what I've always read about too.

Stamped steel rockers are stronger than most aluminum rockers. The only improvement I would do over stamped steel is stamped steel roller tip rockers. They're really the best way to go for longevity, without getting into really spendy rockers.

^^ That is what I was thinking about actually. I can't see going full out, but the roller tipped seem like a better way to go. I'm not looking to build a flat out drag engine, but I'd like for it to be built well.

That's what I run on everything. They're pretty reasonable and do last a lot longer than stock. They come in stock 1.5 or the 1.6 that will give your cam more lift if you've got room. I went 1.6 on the last SBC I built. They're under $100 a set for SBC at Summit. Wish they were that cheap for the BBC. They're nearly double for some reason.

Apparently everything is more expensive for BBC. lol.
I'm still pondering it though. Like for a phase 2 project for the car. I think a bbc with a 4L80e trans would be really cool. But for now, I hope to just move forward.

^^ That is crazy-go-nuts no holds barred. And huge $$$, I'd like to build a newer LS series motor, maybe with a turbo or two eventually. I want to get my hands wet building a decent motor, learning that fairly well, then go after learning about budget turbo builds. I think that would be so awesome. Some of those cars seem very streetable, and put down well over 1000HP.

LOL one of our local engine builders has the (as far as anyone knows) pump gas record for ProCharged BBCs. He's up around 1600hp. When you talk to him he always says his customers usually call him back and want the damn thing detuned. Too much HP for the road.
