There's a BB Camaro running around town that has the bumpers sectioned. He cut the bottom part off and kept the top half with the rubber bumper on it, then tucked them in close. Haven't seen it up close to figure out how he did it all, but it looks really nice.

Thats not a bad idea. I've always liked the look of the 73ish camaro bumpers. If I where to do a mod like that, I'm worried that I would not be able to make the lower grill look like it belongs there.
I was working on the gauge cluster some more today. I removed the printed circuit from it and laid it out flat on the kitchen table. I used my multimeter to test for continuity from the beginning of the circuit to each point along it. They all worked fine, so that means that the issue is some where in the wiring that plugs into the cluster. Darn....
My voltage and oil gauge work independently of the printed circuit. I hooked them both to a 12v source with a switch. I also plugged the third wire on the oil to the oil sensor on the back of the block. When I turn them on, the oil pegs out to full and the voltage dose nothing. Any ideas on where I went wrong?

I think I got the voltage and oil gauges figured out. I had the oil wires backwards and the voltage gauge was just shot.....

So I'm getting a good sized leak from the trans pan. I guess I'll haft to stop putting it off. I'm not looking forward to dropping it and finding large chunks of my forward clutch basket or some else thats just as horrifying....

I only saw it coming at me, but it looked like he had a filler panel the same color as the body between the lower grille and the bumper. I'd guess it's something custom built to transition the lower area that was exposed.

I stopped by the parts store and picked up a big box full of parts. Trans tune up seals and a filter. Axle bearings, seals and fluid. New rear cylinders and brake shoes. I set her on jackstands and removed the wheels and brakes. I then removed the transfer cover and let the fluid drain. (it looked like watered down engine oil). I removed the small bolt the keeps the large pin that holds the spider gears.
Its broken in half!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant remove the large pin, so I cant remove the C-clips holding the axle shafts in place. So now I cant think of a way to remove the rest of the broken bolt.

Please help!!!!!......

I bought a set of left hand drill bits many years ago, and they really do work in extracting broken bolts! 90% of the time they catch when they get a shallow start and just unscrew the bolt or screw.
I'm not a huge Harbor Freight fan, but my set is a HF and it seems to be holding up well.

So after an afternoon of busted knuckles and my buddy & I scratching our heads like a couple of fools.....
The remainder of the bolt is proving to be stubborn.
It has about 1 thread left on it but its not catching. We tried to push on the end of it from the small hole at the other end. Then we tried easy outs, picks, and screwdrivers. I want to just take a BFH and beat the pin out the back of the housing, but Im afraid that I may crack it. If I did crack it, is it hard to find the parts from another car that will work? The red bit in the pic is the trouble.

Ok, so after I got done with my panicking, I used a couple nails bent into a J and then a U shape and beat out the pin with a hammer..... Moving on.
I removed the axle shafts and removed the old seals and bearings. The bearings where shot and did not seem to happy about me trying to remove them with a slide hammer. I had to use a dremel to slowly cut the outer ring. It finally popped out and the new parts went in with out much trouble. I replaced most of the break parts as well. I still haft to refill the diff and bleed the breaks. After that, Its onto the trans tune-up.
