1st Day progress
I use a face shield whenever I use a wire wheel on my angle grinder. It turns so fast and those wires come out all the time, so I use my safety glasses and a shield over them to protect eyes and face! Good heavy gloves too, as I hate getting a finger too close, and I've done that too often!
I need to invest in a face shield I think. I always wear gloves and safety glasses but The last two un-knotted wheels I recently went though I had wire bristles stuck into just about everything! I pulled two of them out of the side of my nose and a couple out of my cheek. You can feel them when they hit you but I didn't think they stuck in there! Hate it when you think you've got them all out of your sleeves/pants and then you move just right and find another one lol! Makes we want to get out there and do more now but waiting on new brushes for the grinder.
Just wanted to mention to you Gaewiel that I saw some "Undergone undercoating remover" on Eastwoods ebay store for $18 a can. Spray it on, wait a while and then easily scrape it off. I'm going to try a can of it for the floors on mine and see how it works. Sounds like it'll save some time and embedded wire brushes.
Wish I had come across that. I burned and scrapped. And Kerosene and every chemical in the garage. Even started the floor on fire purposely once. Killed more pairs of gloves than I can remember. I would look into the spray.
I'll have to check it's coverage but, I may be able to use a paintball mask I have. I think my old desert field jacket is thick enough for my torso and arms. Then, I just have to find my leather gloves. First thing is to try and spray chemical though!
On the subject of window trim stuff, I found this (Firepower 1423-2104 - End Brush | O'Reilly Auto Parts). The guy said to soak it with WD40 also because it would help break down the material. I let it go for about an hour and hit part of it with the brush on the drill. It worked pretty good! It was a little tough in some spots to keep it from rotating off of the target but, still manageable. It took it all the way down to the metal as well!
