thanks guys, put some work into her last night. got the new dash in, side marker, more trim, new outer door handles (which were a pain, the repop ones arm holes need to be drilled before installation lol). and i am having a hell of a time trying to get the window down, anyone know of a way to put the power window down if the motor is burnt? i cant even get to the bolts to take the window itself off RRRRRR#$#%$^&%$. i need to get the door trim off of my old door but can't get the dang thing down. almost ready to smash it.

 

If you're replacing the door trim can you cut the old trim off to get at the operator bolts? If so, then maybe once the old trim is off you can unbolt the operator from the glass and let the glass lower until you can get the rest the trim off?

 

Thanks, but yeah Im looking to reuse the trim from my old door. i think i may have to drill some rivets out? took a break from it moved on to something else for now before i break something i dont want to lol.

i was so mad, while i was working on the car i was careless and scratched it a bit with my zipper on my sweater ^#$#%^&! it will buff out though.

Well, been a bit but every bit counts lol. hey guys. finally i cleaned up a bit of that over spray prob i had, still have to do under my hood though. i scraped the primer from the window with a razor blade sanded the cowl, inners and rad support with some fine grit to get rid of the bumpy grain, taped her all off and painted it back up lol. heres some pics












still a bit more cleaning up to do under the hood (man i shouldnt have used that flat black lol).

When I worked at the Caddy dealership in the late 60's we used to pressure wash under the hoods, then give the brake master/booster, suspension, brackets, etc. a coat of semigloss clear to make it look nice, without getting too new looking. Works great on those nooks and crannies where you just can't get in to paint, or don't want to disassemble again for cleaning.

 

That is a great f ing idea Vall. I will use that every time I sell a car. I usually use armor all or something similar. But it always wears off.
