Thanks, i would have rathered to take it all off and paint it all but this car isn't getting a frame off resto, i'll save all that stuff for the 78 (i know the 80 is supposed to be worth more redone but i love the original 350 4 speed 373, and it will be for the memory of my uncle. we were supposed to rebuild our cars together but god had different plans).

Better take those calipers back off until you get the rotors turned, or the pads will get eaten up by the rust on the rotors.
Hey, what's wrong with air shocks?

thanks, the rotors look better in person than from the pic, i never got them turned (was going to) because a couple people took a look at them and told me i didnt have to.

if you rub your hand on them they are still smooth (can't feel any bumps), maybe some S.O.S pads will take off the surface rust?

And, i don't think anything is wrong with the air shocks, i just hear people bashing them all the time over at Nasty. You know, nasty might be very busy but i get better answers and results from this forum, i ask a question over there and start an argument lol, or i get Know it all's being sarcastic, or i ask a question about how to fix something and people reply "those are junk" and tell you to go buy $1000's worth of stuff etc. well not everyone has the money to blow (thats why i ask how i can fix it lol).

but thanks for looking out for me, i appreciate it very much and i'm gonna go get another opinion on those rotors from a pro cause now that you say that, i'm scared lol i don't have money to waste lol. but they do look better in person than the pic though.

thanks
joe

No reason to turn them if they are smooth, but I would take some 320 or 400 grit emery paper and polish the surface to get rid of the rust, then spray them with brake cleaner and reinstall them. You'll want to repack the wheel bearings anyway, so good reason to do them when you grease the bearings, and install new seals too.
One of the problems our hobby has is people not being mindful of other's when replying to a question. Not just as it concerns other's budgets, but also their feelings. A lot of young folks get turned off to the car hobby because of things that were said to them which caused them to just give up and lose interest.
Building cars should not be all about money, and we need to keep in mind that everyone's interests are different, and everyone's financing is also different. I may be tickled to have built a car for $5,000, while the next guy may think my build is pretty sorry. We need to encourage, and help, without being critical.
The only time we should be really critical is if it helps save the person money, or affects safety, and then we still need to watch how we phrase it so we don't turn someone away from this great hobby we all love.
I have pretty strong feelings about this hobby becoming a rich man's thing, and not wanting that. I'll get off my soap box now.
