Thumbs up

Hey! Fellas, I'm back.

Well the big motor isnt built yet, BUT there is a spare motor going it!! It's a 350 4 barrel. There is a guy not to far from me wanting to clean up his yard. Among his stuff, he has a camper style chevy van with the doghouse motor cover. I went out and fired it up, listened and checked out the motor and it runs great. He pulled it to my shop yesterday, where I have the motor now ready to slide out today. I'll call him up and he'll come back for the van and go straight to scrap yard. I gave him $350 bucks. Not bad considering everyone wants $700 for a motor sitting apart on a wood crate which you've never heard running!! We'll be droping this motor in the camaro to get it running and driving/cruising in the meantime!! Not such a panic to get the big heart ready now!

I was searching kijiji awhile ago and found a fresh ad (added 3 hours prior) A guy was selling a second gen right rear tail light, and only this! He claims its been sitting in his storage shed and he knew it wasn't worth throwing out, so he put it online! Perfect for me, its the only puzzle peice I had left to get! My brother picked it up $25 bucks. Beats the $100 asking price where guys where replying to my wanted ad.

I`m thinking I`ll have to use my new intake and carb, also my headers, just because all of this stuff that was on the motor is set up for emmisions with the air pump. Anybody else use a motor that was once all set up with this junk

I will be cleaning up the motor, putting new gaskets on, etc. Just little things not pulling heads or anything, Remember the point is just to get the car running for now lol. Ill pull my tranny thats in the car still, service it, bolt it onto engine, then drop all back in at once. Will keep you informed!

That's really smart use of your funds! More people should lookinto either buying a donor car, or engine to keep the costs down. Best part is that once you've got your new engine ready you can sell this engine as a running engine that someone can listen to before you pull it! Probably get all your funds back, (and maybe more) since you'll likely clean it up before dropping it into your car.

exactly! This weekend it will get totally cleaned, chromed up (valve covers etc) My new intake and carb, headers, some little goodies that will all be transferable to the new motor. The heads, cam, timing gears etc. will not be going in this one as of now. Fun Fun!! More pictures as we go. (my camera is my blackberry so now its easy to keep up with photo's; in reality its what people want anyways!)

Hey fellas Im back! I can now fit my intake under the hood. I picked up a used harwood 3 inch fibreglass for $250 canadian! way under half plus tax of a new one. Major weight loss too! The Camaro will be hauled to the new shop that I wrench for where I have 24hr access and a hoist, not to mention my tools and any other tool. It's close to running! motor and tranny are back in, just need to button everything up now. Project sleeper has woke up again! Heres a sneak peak
