1973 Z28 project rusty gold.

My Dutchman axles have machined ends, but the whole axle is also machined, not cast like stock axles. Not sure if Moser axles are completely machined, or just the exposed hub end.

Spent some time on the camaro today, worked on getting the springs and rear end out of the car and my girlfriend helped sand and brush the subframe. The spring shackles gave me hell for about two hours but I got them off so the rear end is ready to roll out, I'm gonna get the rear end, springs, and traction bars cleaned up and painted over the week to get back some of the money I put in the new parts, But for now some pics.
Here is the 4 link set up.
The axles, I have no clue but they seem quite a bit off set to me I'll have to measure the housing I pressume they need to be somewhat offset but isn't this a bit much? I wonder if the housing is offset as well for circle track since that is big up here but it looks even.
Here are the ends idk if they are moser or not what do you guys think?
Here are the big boys
Here are the centerline or centerline knock-offs I got yesterday for $60
Here's a couple pics of my diesel tech project for the semester, CAT 3406C inline 6 14.6 liter.
When I'm in class it's funny cause alot of things I can relate to from working on gas stuff and some things don't. I mean we talk about small bore and big bore and 14.6 liters in gas would be huge but in diesel it's pretty typical for a truck engine and then I don't even want to think about the V24s we have out at the mines in haul trucks.
I found this guy wondering through the garage today while I was working Think it's a tiger salamander.

That's what me and the guy I bought em from thought it was, but since you said the ends would be flat I didn't know but thats pretty cool that they are mosers.
The third member is like a 27 or 29 spline out of who knows what and the axles are 31 spline so should I get axles to fit the third member or a third member to fit the axles? Obviously the third member is the expensiver of the two options, I looked on ebay and found new ones for around $500 and on summit for $1000 and up so I'm thinking a used one if I go that route but idk what I'd get one out of, gonna have to research it.
I won't lie I have no idea about third members, measuring axles or even the housing for center but I'll figure it out as I go. Any advice or ideas would be awsome and I'm gonna search here and nasty for 4 link builds to research it up.

Definitely Moser axles. As for the offset, all stock 9" Fords have uneven axles lengths from the factory. Most people equal them out when they narrow them, but whoever set that one up wanted to keep the pumpkin offset. Probably because they didn't think the rearend would have much up/down travel and wanted to ensure the U joints would lube properly.
What part of the setup are you not using? Seems that it would all be useable if you're using any of it. Building a 4 link system from scratch is very tricky, and not something you want to tackle if you don't have to. The angle of the links, the panhard bar angles, and relationship to the front suspension are all critical, and if you got it wrong it can handle weird, or be very dangerous. I'd use it all as is, if it fits under the car.
9" carriers are plentiful, and if you keep an eye on Craigslist you should be able to find a complete one for around $350-400 complete with gears and posi or spool. Might keep an eye open for swap meets also, as they're a great source for carriers.
Here's a great resource for identifying 9" Fords. You need to have it, and a tape measure with you if you look at anything being sold as a real 9" carrier, so you don't end up with a smaller one that wont fit.

I had a 9" set up to fit under the Camaro but I traded it an exhaust on my pick up. It even had discs. I'm still kind of bummed.
I would use the 4 link as is too. Who ever had it was probably planning on a street car, judging by the MT Sportsmans.
