LOL right. What if I did this, this, and that? Really though I'm glad your car is back. I will only deal with people I know for paint I guess. I have some of my dads friends that have been in the business for years. I guess that's why I want to try it myself too. Everyone always took it the the Scott Bros. My dad was friends with these three bros. My mom was their sisters best friend.

I just don't know how i would have handled it. Being a youngster and all.

Thought I was dealing with people I knew, and he did do great paint work reasonably. Just this 2nd trip that turned south. I guess the lesson learned is get an estimate in writing, and make sure you're ready to do lots of cleanup, or get that written into the estimate too!

I haven't seen many guys on the net who got a clean car back. Maybe your new guy is an industry exception. Believe me I have learned your lesson too. Which is kind of what were all here for right? Thanks for sharing.

Happy New Year to you too. I'm headed to the garage right now. Still trying to clean.

I just got done from a couple days in the garage! Had quite a mess to clean up when I was done, so rolled the Austin out and did a thorough cleaning! I lost a tooth on the flexplate in the Austin, and it turned into an ordeal to replace without completely pulling the transmission! Glad it's done!

I got a roll of 6mil plastic from my FIL last summer. He says here staple it to the trusses to keep your heat in this winter. Well he was way off on the dimentions. It was 6' too narrow and 8' too short. So I had that going with the shelves i talked about. They went to the trusses as well. S I couldnt get the plastic up the right way. Well I got the shelves down and in the basement now. But I had 16' of peg board on the wall the shelves were on so now all those tools are EVERYWHERE. Plus the car is in there due to snow. I had a heck of a time moving crap around so I could get the ladder where I needed it. Yesterday I finally broke down and got the rest of the plastic to finish. $50 for a roll of plastic. I was shocked. Its thinner too (4mil). I also got a swing stapler to put it up with because the old stand by wasnt getting it. As of tonight I have a "ceiling" now. I need to close up some holes around my garage door track and some other stuff but it is keeping the heat in. 20* outside and I had it about 50* inside. Which is great running off one heater (30,000 BTU) instead of both. Fine to work on the car except if I go on the floor. My bed foam comes in there though. The tools on the other hand are out of control. I got one sheet of peg board back up but the other will be a challenge. I need to cut it down and I just cant bring myself to getting more tools out. So tomorrow after work its tool time. I will get the tools back in my box and then go from there.
