1970 build....
Well, I decided to go ahead and go with new control arms as well. I went with a package with uppers and lowers from Classic Performance Products. I also ordered the internals for the rear end and am building that with 3.42's and 30 spline Moser axles. Still need to sort out the brakes though.... Will more than likely go with Wilwood front and rear, but we'll see how that goes....
Wife's out of town, so I am catching up on some house projects now that she ain't looking over my shoulder, but I got some stuff in....
Moser 30 spline axles for the rear end.

Cowl panels and floorboard panel.

I got the rear end housing back from the sand blaster yesterday and got it painted today in House of Kolors silver. I will not get anything else done until next weekend at the earliest since I have to go out of town on Monday. I should get the rear end assembled next weekend though. Once that is done, I can get some measurements for the rear brakes and get those ordered.
Moser most likely has studs, and can ensure the studs have the correct shoulder size for their axles. I've sure had trouble buying aftermarket studs for axles. Seems they are almost never the right size. Either too large, or too small/loose.
That axle look great! Your build is going to be first class!

The specs call for a .480 knurl, so that's what I ordered.
I am building it kinda as a "show n go" build, so everything gets some attention!
This is the first time I have ever torn one down this far to do this kind of build, and it's been a learning experience for sure. I have been a shadetree mechanic my whole life. My dad raced IMSA and ran a bodyshop while I was growing up, so I learned some then. I race motorcycles and own Trading Paint (Trading Paint) and specialize in custom paint for race bikes, but I use to do a **** ton of cars on the side when I was in the Marines.

Got back in town and these goodies were waiting for me. Axle bearings, studs, cover bolts.... Also got the replacement roller rockers in stainless with 1.6 ratio.
Should be getting the rear assembled tomorrow, but still have to clean and paint the cover as well as measure for the disc brake kit.

Got my rear end picked up today. Cost me a bottle of Anejo tequila to get it put together and set up properly. I'll consider that $$ well spent. I can order the brakes for the set up now since I know what the measurements are.

Also managed to pull the rubber bushings from the new leaf springs and install the new poly bushings..... I never knew how much of a PITA it was to remove the rubber stuff. I ended up drilling the rubber to relieve pressure, then punch the center out, remove the rubber, and then the sleeve before putting the poly bushings in place.
