Need to locate seat belt bolt holes
Pardon my lack of search skills .....I'm new here on this forum.
I recently purchased a 72 Camaro that has a completely redone interior with all leather panels, custom console and includes new period correct carpeting that appears to be very well glued down over the floor insulation. The prior owner had simple lap seat belts anchored under the seat track bolts. I would like to anchor the belts in their own mounting holes for a neater, non-twisted install. I may be able to find the holes against the tunnel from underneath if I get it on a hoist (if they aren't plugged), but can anybody give me some kind of dimension to help find the holes that are in the rocker panel area?
Or......maybe one of you has a better suggestion. I don't want to destroy the carpet install....was hoping to be able to just cut a hole in the right spot.
I'll post some pics of the car when ever I can figure out how to do that.
Thanks

It's actually not hard to find. Measure directly across from the trans tunnel hole, and the same height up from the floor. Then take a small pointed pick and poke around until it finds the hole. The sharp pick wont leave any marks in the carpet that can be seen. Once you find the hole you can leave the pick in it, and use a razor knife to cut around the pick and open the carpet up.
