What else should i replace?
SO im dropping my TH350 trans to change the rear main seal because its dripping oil from under the flywheel cover and i was wondering what else i should change/replace while it was off. im not looking to replace any giant expensive parts but what seals or gaskets should i do while im at it?

No, the front main seal (not rear main seal) is in that area and can cause a leak around the converter shaft. I assume he meant front if he's pulling the trans, as the rear only requires pulling the driveline and prying it out.
ms299,
When you pull the converter you'll need to pull the plate under it and then replace both seal and gasket. Without getting very deep into the tranny, you wont need to do much else.
Be sure to pull your inspection cover and shine a light up into the pump area to ensure it's really the front seal. If there's fluid running down from the pump area, then it's the seal. Also check the kickdown cable attachment point, as that can leak and fluid will run down near the front making you think it's the front seal.

I go more by the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" school of thought. Drop the oil pan if you want, but that's something that can be done later with the trans in if you choose to.

I just did the same repair on my engine. I went with the Silicone style seal. I had the rubber one on from my rebuild a few months ago and it was leaking.

Really confusing. I thought if he was pulling the trans he had mistakenly referred to the rear main seal, meaning the trans main seal in front.
You mean a trans dosen't have any oil???????????? Wow!

Yeah, it's "fluid", not earl. Being he has a 2 piece rear main, unless he has a newer engine, he wouldn't really need to pull the trans.
I've snuck (sneaked, snook?) the upper rear main around the crank before, with everything else in tact.
