Replace my lt1 with a ls1?

RE: Replace my lt1 with a ls1?
What's weong with the LT1 you have? I would say just leave it how it is because it's a lot of work to swap a engine and what would be the end result? Not worth it in my opinion. It takes a lot of work, time, and money to do that and you end up with a engine a little bit better than the one you have now. I suggest that you keep the LT1 and make it better. That's just my opinion.

He is asking for advice on a swap, not whether he should swap or not.
Anyways good question man, I have been trying to find an answer to this question. What possible things are needed and budget cost. I am very curious to see what people has to say

You can do anything if you have enough money. If you're planning on a track car technically the LSX series has more potential because it's heads allow for much higher flow volume while still retaining flow velocity for low end torque. They also allow for a much higher valve lift and the block is a 6-bolt main, which lends very well to building a race motor. That being said, the LT1 is a good platform to build on as well due to the reverse cooled heads, which allows you to run a very high compression without the risk of detonation. The end all be all is the LSX is going to be faster in the long run, but it's going to be a more expensive build.
In order to swap an LS1 into and LT1 car you will at least need: A new hood (the LS1 is a taller motor), different motor mounts, new input shaft, new PCM/wiring harness etc. All in all if you're seriously considering the swap it's best to get an LS1 donor car that you can get all the parts you need from.

I made my LT1 a beast for much cheaper than the LS1 swap. Just take your time and consider other things than power. With my suspension/tire/gear set up not only is the car a blast to drive on the street but it also launches hard as **** at the track. Sure, there are some LS1 cars that can beat me, but I've run down plenty.
