Sheesh, what did you do after lunch?

 

That was after lunch! Well lunch to around 5:30 tonight!

 

Bought the steel fuel line and AN fittings today to do my fuel supply lines. Installed the Harwood fuel cell and plumbed the lines with my new Pro Comp fuel pump. Got it all plumbed and finished the final bracket to brace my brake pedal assembly to the dashboard. Also got my plug wires and new plugs so it will be ready when I get the wiring harness done.

Changed the oil and replaced a headlight.

 

Disassembled my old headlights on the Austin and chopped them up. Cut out the old screw in 6 v. sockets and poprivetted in a pair of 2005 Chevy halogen lamp sockets. Rewired them with long leads so I'll be ready to mount them when I get the fuse block installed.

 

I'm so lagging behind. Between school, work and the family I haven't even seen my car in a month. I'm still collecting parts though. Vall, you must come home and go right to work on that and stop just for dinner. Then clean up and bed time.

Me I'm getting my *** kicked by frequency resonance and capacitive reactance daily. I'll get a break just before Christmas.

 

You described my routine almost exactly! Sometimes I quit a little early if it's cold, but often I just fire up the catylitic heater and it's nice and toasty!
Tonight I went out and gave my dash the second coat of paint and warmed the place up enough to get it dry. Then I built the gauge fillers to reduce the two openings down for my speedometer and fuel gauge. Got them mounted and also got the 3 gauge cluster mounted under the dash, and my Autometer tach mounted on the column. The big hole between the speedo and the fuel gauge is the Lucas ignition/headlight switch location. It needs to be prewired before installation as it has setscrew terminals for the various wires to headlights, tailights, dashlights, and ignition.
Need to paint the inside firewall before I can mount the fuseblock and wiring harness, then I can begin wiring everything.

 

Got the battery box bolted down and the cable installed to the starter. Got the Autowire NW harness and fuseblock mounted, and the wiring done to the rear of the car. Also got the reworked headlights installed, but not tied in.
Had to stop and help my buddy with his '56 Chev project, but I needed to make a parts run anyway. Picked up a dimmer sw. and a universal keyed ignition sw. The factory ignition sw. has no key, and it is built with the headlight sw. as part of it. I wanted to reuse the old Lucas headlight sw. as it fills the huge hole between speedo and fuel gauges, so the choice was to abandon the ignition part and just use the headlight/park light sw. portion.
Should have the wiring done tomorrow, and with some luck I might fire this project for the first time! Can't wait to hear this 327 come to life!

But this wiring is kicking my rear! You'd think an old electrician could just wire it blindfolded, not make it look like he wired it blindfolded!


Did get the valve covers changed out today though! Small item, but more fun than wiring!
