Supposedly the limit for the Miller is 5/16", but I've welded 1/2" plate with no problem. The 1/2" plate took a couple of passes to get a good wide bead, but 3/8" is a one pass deal.
They're not cheap to buy, but well worth the money. Our local welding supply house quoted me $958 with a cart and full tank of argon/co mix, but our shop does welder repair for them so I got 25% off the price.

Thats a good deal when your talkin a grand. The Hobart I hope to get in the spring is 1100. I'm hoping my connections can get me a deal. As for my car I took some stuff in to the shop and shot blasted it all. I took the booster home and have been spray bombing the crap out of it to get the primer to build enough to cover the pitting left by rust. I'm some where around 5 coats with some sanding in between. I think I can spray color tomorrow after a good scuff.

I am on the fence about my brakes though. I don't have anything on there for brakes and I am considering a S10 disc swap in the future as well as a 1LE swap for the front with B-body spindles. What do you guys think. Should I save some more and hunt down the disc parts? Or should I save enough for the stock brakes? I need EVERYTHING the car only has an old set of rotors on it so I could put tires on it.

Any input would be apperciated.

To keep the costs down I'd go stock up front. GM calipers are only about $60-$70 a pair for rebuilt. In the rear the S10 is a cheap way to go, but not really cheaper than aftermarket and more trouble to install. Summit sells a conversion for $429 and it's complete with parking brake and easier than the S10 conversion.

I put a new tie rod on my car today. Took about 20 minutes. Maybe now I'll pass inspection so that I can get my car legally on the road again..

I don't think anybody really worries about this topic being stricty 2nd gens. It's really just a topic about what we've done to our Camaros lately. Heck, nobody has told me not to post updates on my gasser project yet.

Well....now that you mention it!
Nobody complained because it has a second gen connection by osmosis.
