Today I pulled the transmission out of my car. It was acting up after it was up to temp. and driven for a while. After seeing the fluid, it doesn't surpise me one bit. I had another TH350 rebuilt by a guy that does really good work with automatic transmissions. I really didn't think the one that I took out today was that bad.

Guess that's what I get for taking someone at their work regarding the condition of something they're selling. I learned my leason for sure this time around. It cost me time, effort and money on the first transmission to buy it and put it in. Plus the torque converter I only put about 300 miles on and can't use now In addition to the one I just had rebuilt and have to put back in and get a new torque converter. Yep....leason learned!

It seems to be. I got my rebuilt TH350 back last Friday and I ordered a Coan 11" 2600 stall converter for it today. The converter should be here Wednesday. I'll start putting it back together latter in the week and hopefully have it done so I can drive it Sunday if all go's right!

Thanks though!

That's my next big purchase too! Still looking for a tranny for my Austin project!
Got to measuring tonight and the frame rails needed to be slimmed down to make clearance for the headers and steering box. Disected them and removed the hump off the top, then boxed the top back in. Once the motor mounts are in I'll gusset them and add a crossmember for strength.

Also assembled the ladder bars and panhard to do some mockup back there too once the engine is in. These are Comp Engineering bars and panhard. Very reasonably priced and they fit my budget well at under $200.

I got my new chin spoiler today, finally. I paid for it a month ago. Had it deliver straight to my dads so the woman doesn't know. Shhh, she coming. LOL

Pulled the rear window glass out because previous owner had pasted it in black with black RTV silicone. Scraping, cleaning and counting how many clips I need to replace...

A .040" over 327, balanced and blueprinted. Picked up a TH350 today, plus a driveline to shorten for the project, a pair of Jag coilovers, and a Jag shifter! Major steps towards finishing the project and all for under $300!!!! I am really tickled as I can now drop the engine inside the frame rails to mock up the mounts!
Once the engine is sitting in the car I can correctly set up the rear axle and ladder bars!
