Default Valve Cover Help Needed / Question

Hey... 79 Camaro... pulled the 5.7 out and a freind helped me rebuild.

Engine (now a 355 after 30 over bore) back in car. We went with Vortec heads. Engine runs good.

Question. Why do the only valve covers that fit (center bolt tall covers) Not have an oil fill cap? They seem to always just have a single grommet in each cover, typically for a scrubber and pcv?

How do I add oil? Pulling either the scrubber or the pcv is tedious and risks damaging grommet?

Does anyone have any advice for me? Im willing to buy new covers. These are 602 casting Vortec heads.

Thanks in advance!

A

Default PRW Oil Filler Caps 4120453

Thank you... just ordered one... I'll give it a shot.

Where was the oil fill on Vortec?

Default oil filler

You can put it anywhere on valve cover that has a flat enough spot to fit (make sure it doesn't contact rockers).
Valve cover has to come off once to mount filler works good.

Thanks everyone for the help. The original Vortec engine block had an oil fill tube straight into the block.

I ended up with this:

Thanks again for the help!
