Default Value of low mileage 80 Z28?

My mom's husband is selling his '80 Z28 and he's trying to figure out how much it is worth. It's got 27K on the odometer and the car is in excellent shape. it's a hard top, not a T-top. any thoughts?

4 speed or automatic? 100% original, or any changes? Tires. wheels, interior? Lots of variables to consider, and a few pictures would really help.

With that car condition will be everything. If it is mint and you can draw in collector and competitive car show people it could be huge. But if the paint is faded or it anything has been changed you are dealing with a whole different group of buyer.

I couldnt agree more. My car has 43xxx on it. Collectors wouldnt come near it because the onlything 1980 on it is the shell and rear axle.

its an automatic. All original, matching numbers. No body putty, original paint. Been garaged it's whole life, never driven in winter. Everything works except cruise. Here's a few pics

I do not think you are going to draw the big money. For the car to be show worthy would take a lot of work. Based on the engine compartment the underneath would need some work also. It is great car I just don't think you are going to get people flying in to check it out.

So now you are talking local collectors. Sorry to say this can vary a lot depending on where your at. I would think in my area 10-15k depending on how fast you want to sell it. Start high, you never know there could be a well off guy that drove that same color/optioned car in high school. To him it could be worth more.

I know I would willing to pay more for a 74 4 speed Z28 then most guys would.

Automatic, lots of cleanup and detailing needed in the engine bay, but a pretty straight, low mileage Camaro. Wouldn't bring the $10k-$15k Gorn mentioned out here on the West Coast. Probably more in the $7k-$9k range here.

Ya for us most of the all original cars are in need of restoration or have had work people are not admitting to. When I go on vacation out of the rust belt I always see cars I would love to bring home at great prices. Before Ebay you could make goof money buying car down south and trucking them up here. Ebay took away the big profit. Of course my prices are full retail.

If the rust from the brake system or water pump has fallen and gotten underneath there could be a lot of work there. If there rust under the car on the brake line and cable the price would drop pretty quickly.
