Default Trying to track down previous owner of My 1970 Camaro

Hello,
I just recently learned that my 1970 RS SS 396 Cortez Silver Camaro 124870N532015 was sent from Norwood to William Pape Inc. in Huntington New York. I've learned that the dealership has changed hands and I believe the Pape family is no longer involved. Im trying to find my build sheet or POP if either still exists. I've been thinking of paying the DMV to see if I could find the names of some previous owners. Someone might have saved some paperwork or made some copies. Any help or leads would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob

FYI,DMV does not do that any more. Its the newer privacy laws that stopped that service. This is why Papa Johns owner had to put out a 1/4 of a million dollar bounty on the his Camaro's Vin number. A car he sold in the 80's to help start the business. It still took a year to find it.

I wish you luck in your search but I think buying lottery tickets may be a better use of your time and money and I don't gamble. You are looking for a needle in a hay stack and your not sure where the hay stack is.

Thanks. Too bad it would be really cool to find the hay stack and the shiny needle inside!!

I would start with the car's previous title. You did get a copy of it when you bought the car, right?

If not, perhaps the seller still has a copy, and you can start tracking it back one owner at a time.
