I'm getting ready to get a 454 for my 81 and am wondering about the tranny.I know the right way to go is a th400,but for the time being until i have the extra money to get another transmission,get the driveshaft modified,etc. will a th350 hold up to a stock 454 under normal street driving for about six months or so?

 

It will/should as long as you don't drive it like an animal.

 

Yeah,thats what i'm hoping for,as far as driving goes i dont drive the car much anyway since i'm always working long hours,but yeah until i get the better trans it will just be normal street driving anyway,way to many cops in my area to try and drive like a nut anyway haha.
