Default !!Tragic stories...!!

So it's been a long time since i've been on here and for good reason. So on my birthday last may Me and my buddy were riding down the road (he has a 05' GTO) and we were doing roll races and the one time i jumped out in fron of him guess what jumped out in front of me..a really big deer. So running around 85-90 i hit this deer and it screwed up my right front headlight and it whiped around and smashed my door. But..thats not all. So i put a new headlight on it and kept driving it because it was my daily driver at the time and about a week later i got a good back fire out of the carb on a really hot day (was told it was vapor lock) and it caught my air filter on fire. This normally wouldn't be a huge deal if i had my wing nut on it but i had just a regular nut on there and couldnt get it off so my filter completly engulfed in flames and burnt up my all under my hood and my wires running to my air induction flaps. But the real bummer was it got so hot and burned so long before i could rip it off it actually melted about the top 1/8" of my carb. Sooooooooo long story short now im here and im getting all my body work fixed in a couple weeks and i have a brand new crate motor in her now because i sold my old one to my brother. So now i have a summit racing 350 rated at 260h.p. and 350t.q. so it's a good starting point i guess. Atleast it's a 4-bolt main. So hey guys!! whats up!

Welcome back! Sorry about your misfortune but it sounds like everything is working out now.

Hate when that stuff happens, but if I hadn't wrecked my '71 last summer I might not have ever gotten around to the restoration! Sometimes good things do come from a bad start!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. However, I am a firm believer that all clouds have a silver lining. Good luck in getting her back in line. Looks like a nice car. I must admit, I'm a bit partial to 80's. If you get around to putting in the new block, please let me know how you like it. Considering the same motor for mine ~ but it's not urgent and my daughters getting married this year. Needless to say, the $$ are going to other places than the Z...
Take care
