Default Torque Strap Question

Ok, I got one for ya. I recently became the owner of an original GM torque strap, I had heard it was a quick fix for broken motor mounts on Chevelle's with big engines. What I need to know is if this Chevelle part will work on a 73 Camaro with a Big Block? It consists of a bracket that is supposed to mount to the head, and a cable strap that goes around the upper control arm cross shaft that comes back to the mount and is held there by a clevis type assembly. If anyone knows how this mounts, please let me know. Hoping this will clear NHRA tech as a motor holddown. We have Energy Suspension mounts, but tech guys say this isn't enough. THanks to anyone that helps us out. Bob

Not sure about tech today, but in the past they always accepted a simple chain bolted to the frame and head. I ran one forever on my '71, and still have one there today.
Here's a picture of the chain:

Exactly what I told in the other thread. Works forever.

Thanks Guys, Sorry you think i posted this in the wrong area, but i did post it in ask GM and got no response so thats why i posted it here. I have used the chain before, thought this might be a bit cleaner. Anyway, thanks again. Bob

Anyway....to answer your question, why not just size up the torque strap you have and see if it fits? It doesn't want to have a load on it, it's only there "catch" the engine in case the mount lets loose.
