Default too tall!a

So I just redid the rear suspension on my 70 camaro and now it sits waaay too tall in the back. I used the original spring and front mounts. I got reproduction shackles for the back and replaced all the bushings. when I put in the rear end it sat way too tall. What could have I done wrong?? There is no gas tank, interior, motor or trans in the car yet. Could this be why? Also no shocks yet. I just have no clue what the problem is

Yeah, part of it is because the car is sitting light. You also want to wait to button down all the suspension nuts & bolts (at the pivot points) until the full weight of the completed car is sitting on the tires, and after you give the body a few bounces. Torquing down the shackles with the rear body jacked up, if you did, can be another reason for it being high.

Haha looks like I really screwed up then because I torqued down the leaf springs before the car was on the ground and while it was still aa shell! What do you suggest I do right now? Should I just wait until I put most of the weight back in the car and then lossen up the springs, then retighten em??

Just leave em loose till you're done. Same thing for the front A-arm bushings, if you replace them.

Well I loosened em back up and bounced it a little bit. I dropped about six inches haha. It looks good. The only thing is the drivers side is higher than the passanger. Will this eventually even out?

sometimes just pulling it forward and back a few feet will level it out... we do that at work before we tighten the bolts up all the way...

6"? Wow...lmao!!!
I wouldn't worry about the unevenness until the car is together and all the weight is distributed. Also don't forget you'll be in the drivers seat when driving.
Which is more important to you, having the car sit level while empty in the parking lot, or while on the road with you in it?
