stroked or supercharged
im restoring a 71 z/28. i have a early 350 lt1 block and trying to decide whether to stroke it to a 383 or supercharge it . just had the car painted with a 2 inch cowl hood and not sure if a low proflie weiand s. c. will fit under the hood. has anyone done this. what do you think will make the most power. i will have to lower the compression if i s. c. if i stroke i can probably get 10 to 1 compression on pump gas. any sugestions would be of great help

Well price wise the stroker kit would be cheaper but depending on what your goals are and if you have the money go supercharged and stroke it? Not sure if the 2" cowl will be enough for clearance and if its just been painted you may want to check into that, it would suck if you did it all up and the hood wouldnt close and have to repaint the hood.

thanks for all the input. i would really like to s.c. and keep the bottom end stock because these blocks are hard to find. im wanting to make between 5 ans 6 hundred h. p. i like the look of the weiand blower but may go with a procharger if i have a hood issue. i have a new dodge challenger with a kenne bell , it made 634 at the wheels it is a great car to drive. westside performance of houston will be doing my engine work ill probably get his opinion also, he may know if ill have a hood clearance problem

The stock bottom end will puke way before you make those numbers. If it does live it won't live long. Pistons I would bet or rod bolts. Cast just doesn't like boost. I swept my hyperutectics off the track after 4, 150 shot passes. It ran all year until then.
