Default Starter Help

I got my 81 Z28 back a little over a year ago now after having the motor rebuilt. The motor is a 355ci with an Edelbrock top end kit rated at 410hp, with ceramic coated LT headers. My issue with the car is that after driving the car for a bit and shutting if off for a little bit, it doesn't want to start. The starter makes an awful noise. I've come to the realization that my headers are heating my starter up causing it to make this noise and not want to start. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and how you went about fixing it? I've found some of the thermal wraps to help prevent the heat from getting to the starter, will that work?

Thanks again and sorry for the long read

I just went through this about two months ago on my '78 and the blankets are the way to go.

Where did you get your blanket from?

Got mine from Summit Racing, but Jegs has 'em too. Just about any aftermarket/performance parts place will probably have them. They're pretty cheap, less than $30. Good luck.
