I have no regrets about going through it. I know there's some who don't like unions, and I don't want to get into the politics argument, but the electrical industry gave me a good living for 34 yrs., and I have a retirement that's more than comfortable, so I wouldn't change any of it looking back.

Current travels along the surface of a wire. The finer the strands, the more surface area per volume, which means less resistance. Solid wire is used for heavy duty applications because it is so much more resistant to breaking.

If this was true couldn't you just make the wire hollow and get the same amperage rating. I don't think I'm buying that theory totally. Current does travel on the surface, which is why wires that carry extremely high currents can't be bent too tightly, or they will allow current to radiate on tight bends and actually lose current . But current does also flow through the entire part of the conductor, just tends to be higher towards the surface of the conductor.

LOL Anyone one wanna get into a discussion on resonant frequency? Or how Nikola Tesla lit up light bulbs that were stuck in the ground 20 miles from the power source?

Tesla was a genius, overshadowed by Edison the showman. Edison just knew how to market himself better!

Weird how they fought over who's idea was better. Then fast forward 100 years and they were both right. Transmit with AC and just about everything that plugs into the wall inverts AC to DC internally.
