Hmmm,B&M has a reputation for quality gear, makes me wonder about the transmission shop that installed it.
Are you sure it was the right set up for your trans? Did you buy it and take it to them or did they order it?
Only option? I seriously doubt that, what trans do you have?

You had to be a Gorrila to shift it, thought it was just old but new one behaves the same trans shop very experienced

I have a Ratchet shifter in an 82 Ram pickup they can be used with 700R4 there's a tab of some kind that you need to remove. Also most of the time adjustments need to be made with the vehicle manually shifted to low. Then the cable tightend from there. But with mine I had to do it in park then ajust it. As far as operation once adjustments done it was dead nuts and smooth just the reverse lock could be annoying.
