Is the bondo so bad it can't be removed? If you go after it with a good angle head grinder and get it back down to bare metal, then you should be able to hammer it out and do it right.
Nothing wrong with bondo in small portions. It's a necessary evil in body work, just keep it thin. I've ground out a lot of bondo and hammered out panels to save them. I'd much rather have an original panel with nothing on it but paint, but I'd rather have a repaired panel than a repro panel.
If you do have to replace it, you might check local ads or wrecking yards to find a good original to cut off. I usually just take my cordless sawzall along and remove them myself. It's cheaper and you get it just the way you want it.

Wow, you find salvagable quarters in a junk yard, In PA I have not seen a good 2nd gen quarter in a yard in 8-10 years.

Skins are ok as long as the area they cover is the damaged area (assuming we are not talking show car). Step one will be to remove the bondo and see what you got. The skin covers about 90% of the quarter. If you see rust coming form under the bondo it could be pretty bad. Bondo tends to hide rust until the effected area is almost done for. Unlike fiberglass bondo is not a sealer once water gets to it it can act like a wick and spread the water out.

This is Oregon! We don't salt our roads, so we still have cars that aren't rusted out. I know a guy right now who's got about 40 2nd gen Firebirds, and a few Camaros. All waiting to be parted out, or in the middle of parting out.
